My History
A Short Summary of My Life
- I was born in Beaumont, Texas. We lived there for a year and then moved to Houston, where I learned to talk and read.
- Then, my family headed north to Casper, Wyoming. I went to elementary school there and got hit in the eyebrow by a dirt clod.
- When I was 12 or so, we moved to Englewood, Colorado and I went to Laredo Middle School and Smoky Hill High School. I read science fiction and hung out with freaky people. I liked the band Boston.
- Then, at the tender age of 14, I moved to Grand Junction, Colorado, where I learned to drive, ate a lot of Wienerschnitzel Chili Cheese Dogs, and began composing electronic music. I went to Fruita Monument High School and tried not to get beat up by the cowboys.
- I went to college at the University of Colorado, where I got into a lot of debt, learned to play Ultimate Frisbee, and lost most of my hair. I got a BS degree in 1990 and an MS degree in 1992 in Aerospace Engineering Sciences.
- During that period, I made a monumental rise to power as the official administrator of the boulder.general newsgroup, and later successfully defended that title through the legendary DOOM deathmatch. It was Alek Komarnitsky (whom years later I re-met playing Ultimate Frisbee) against Chris and Jill (a couple of local yahoos).
- Since then, I’ve been a software engineer, tech support manager, QA manager, bandleader, Ultimate Frisbee team captain, and husband.
