more cowbell

I’m sure you’re well familiar with the famous Saturday Night Live “Cowbell” skit, starring the amazing Christopher Walken.

For the past few years, I’ve been noticing that some rock songs from the 1970s and 1980s sound to me like they could’ve used more cowbell. Seriously. I’ll hear a song, and realize that the drummer had a perfect opportunity to lay down some tasteful cowbell percussion but didn’t. So I started an Apple Music playlist of these songs. Here’s what I’ve got so far:

• “(You Can Still) Rock In America” by Night Ranger
• “Just the Same Way” by Journey
• “Any Way You Want It” also by Journey
